*We may face barriers (e.g. failures, fears, discouragement, inadequacies etc) that hinder us from achieving our potential. We need to realize that God is there to help us overcome the barriers. Knowing this will encourage us to be faithful to God and to rely on him for strength and guidance to achieve our potential.

God gives us gifts (Rom 12:6-8 & 1 Cor 12:1-31) so that we can build up his church. To use them effectively, we must :
1) Realize that all gifts and abilities come from God
2) Understand that not everyone has the same gifts
3) Know who we are and what we do best
4) Dedicate our gifts to God’s service and not our personal success
5) Be willing to utilize our gifts wholeheartedly, not holding back anything from God’s service.

Therefore, we need to be faithful in utilizing our giftings and always look out for opportunities to serve others with what God has given us.

Hi Bro, sis & Friends,

As all of us know, one more week to HopeGames’08!! Get set & ready…! This year’s event is held at UNITEN once again. But the participation is just down to the 3 main centre. No matter what, let’s come together and have fun! (Not to forget to pray that it won’t rain on that day.)(Cos it’s been raining non-stop these days)

This is the portal where All Hope Family can communicate together about the HopeGames. First update is on the events going on in the Hope Games. Just a refresher on the events just in case some of us may miss it. As usual, we have the athletics event, tennis, Football, Volley ball, netball, Chinese & international chess and tug-of-war. And we have a new comer which is the Sepak Takraw! And not to forget we have telematch as well as the Special event… (Total of 10 events) So, what’s interesting in the telematch and special event?? it’s…. <> Well, if you really want to know, come to HopeGames’08!
(& bring ur friends too..!)

As we are all busy preparing for the sports and competition, it got me thinking why do we have Hope Games every year? What is the purpose of having HopeGames? To have fun? To fellowship? To compete? What do you think? (Leave a comment..)

Last but not least, Please pray for one another for protection that everyone will be in tip-top condition as the exciting HopeGames is drawing near. And Would appreciate your prayers for the HopeGames and the committee as well.

For those who may have missed the briefing on the first class:
You are encouraged to participate in the discussion after each teaching session. Many agreed that major part of the learning in SLT is from the discussion and contribution among the participants. So please contribute enthusiastically.

Prior to the class, you are required to read the lesson content and complete the reading assignment which you can download from here.

After each lesson, you are to write a paragraph of “reflection”. The “reflection” sheets are attached with your notes.

So as indicated in the end of the 3rd class, the assessment of this course is as follow:
1. Attendance - 10%
2. Participation - 40%
3. Reflection - 30%
4. Reading - 20%

Currently this sister is in coma at HKL(Hospital Kuala Lumpur) due to critical Asma. She is now in an unconscious condition and is already 3 days in this condition, if tomorrow we still cant receive any good news from her hence she need to go for operation so we would like to request all the brothers and sisters pray for this sister. Below is the prayer point we have requested:

1. God can heal her completely.
2. She can be still for God and she will continue to have strong faith in God.
3. The spirit of God will continue protecting her.
4. Pray that God will grand her peace.
5. God will comfort their family members and their family members will continue trust in God and put faith in GOd.
6. pray that God will give us the good news from her.
7. Pray that all the church members will continue have a firm Faith in God as we known that this a big challenge and test for all of us.

Please pray for my mom who is going through chemotheraphy after her surgery due to breast cancer.

Pray for my entire family which includes my father, mother, brother and sister in-law, brother in-law and their baby to receive Jesus as their Saviour in God’s timing. My 2 sisters are already Christians.
